Merewether
This 2.5-storey heritage home in Merewether underwent a complete refurbishment, bringing new life to the interiors while carefully retaining the character of the original home.
A key part of the project was the restoration of the original 100-year-old timber floorboards. The boards were carefully refurbished, preserving their natural character while giving them a new lease on life for modern family living.
The refurbishment also addressed a number of existing building issues, including water ingress and the absence of adequate sarking. The building envelope was comprehensively resealed with a high-performance coating system, providing improved protection while respecting the home's original character.
Inside, premium joinery and imported German stone bring a considered level of detail and materiality throughout the home. Outside, the pool area was completely re-paved, creating a more cohesive connection between the home and its outdoor spaces.
The result is a classic modern refurbishment— retaining the heritage elements that give the home its identity, while introducing contemporary finishes, refined detailing and the level of craftsmanship expected of a Crawcon project.
